An Igbo social-cultural apex group popularly known as Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has lent their volume on the current agitation to leave the country, the group said that Igbo people will not leave Nigeria that, the Igbos partly own the country and also were heavily involved in the independent struggle, during colonial rule in the country.
The group said that instead of leaving Nigeria, those who are settlers or foreigners will leave the country for them. The group further urged the pro-Biafra groups to fight for social, economic and structural justice, that Igbos only need a level playing ground in the polity.
The National Deputy Publicity Secretary of the group, Mazi Chuks Ibegbu, made this known to the general public.
The apex group also called for an immediate investigation into a registration of a fake Ohanaeze Ndigbo by Corporate Affairs Commission. Tagging the culprits as coupists , the apex group asked them to quickly apologize to Ndigbo,gods of the land and ndi ichie to avoid dealing with them traditionally. The apex group charged the pro-Biafra groups to ask politicians of Eastern extraction about the money that comes into the region and how it is spent.
