Pastor William Kumuyi, the general superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has advised christians to take preventive measures against the deadly coronavirus disease as faith and work must go hand in hand
Pastor Kumuyi, a revered holiness preacher, also said Christians should avoid handshake at this period as it is commonly done maybe after church service or prior to the commencement of service in the church. His advice followed the warning from the health institutions over the disease currently ravaging the globe.
In a circular sent to all the branches of his church throughout Nigeria and read by the overseers in all the regions, Pastor Kumuyi said Christians should not depend only on faith and live reckless lives, adding that all health principles must be adhered to as the world battles to contain the deadly scourge.
He advised church leaders to tell their members to abide by all health standards as faith and works must go together.
He said all the branches of the church should comply without delay. He added that they should all fit sanitisers. He also advised that reasonable distance should be kept from each other during the course of church programmes.
Churches are some of the places having large gatherings of people for worship majorly on Sundays. Lagos state government has banned all church gatherings above 50 in number
